City Charter
The City Charter is the document that establishes the powers of the City's government, granted to it by its residents and the Constitution of the State of Colorado. The City Charter is published as Part I, City Charter of the City's Code of Ordinances.
State Statutes
The Colorado Revised Statutes include provisions that will affect the rewrite of the Land Use and Development Code. However, since Durango has a home rule charter, the general rule is that state law applies only when the legislature specifically says that a law relates to a matter of statewide concern.
